Meet the Team

Trammell Cox – Co-President

While living in Cambodia for two years as a missionary for the LDS Church, Trammell noticed that many people he taught couldn’t read because they couldn’t see clearly. When he mentioned this to his family, his brother, Parker, decided to address this need through his Eagle Scout project. Trammell is fluent in Khmer, the language of Cambodia. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Psychology. He is currently in his fourth year of medical school at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and is pursuing residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is married to the amazing Jen Cox, and new father to the cutest boy ever.

Parker Cox – Co-President

Parker created the Eagle Scout project that lead to it all. Parker has worn glasses or contacts since he was 5 years old, and is nearly blind without them, so he could relate to those who can’t see. Parker served a two-year mission for the LDS Church in San Diego, California, where he was assigned to speak and teach in Laotian. After he completed his mission, he led the expansion of Seeing is Believing into Laos. He is currently studying neuroscience at Brigham Young University, and is very involved in research. He is also a part-time ski-instructor at Park City. He plans on attending medical school.

Jen Cox – Vice President

Jen caught the vision when she married into the Cox family. Having worn glasses since she was young, she understood the importance of sight and was touched by the opportunity to help others. Jen graduated Brigham Young University with a B.A. in History. She completed a Masters of Library Science from the University of Maryland and has since worked in various library systems. Her favorite books are the Harry Potter series, and she recently became a mother to the cutest boy ever.

Kendall Vance – Director, Laos

Kendall loves the people of Laos. From 2013-2015, he volunteered as a missionary in Laos. During his service, he taught English to the government departments, hospital staffs, and deaf orphans throughout Vientiene. Since 2016, he has loved every second of giving back to these incredible Laotians through Seeing is Believing. Kendall recently graduated from Brigham Young University, and is now the CEO and Founder of Sebastian Wolf Suits and Sebastian Wolf Rings. He loves building leaders and providing jobs to his employees.

Abbie Vance – Co-Director, Laos

Abbie has volunteered as the Co-Director of the work in Laos since September, 2016. She has recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Exercise Science. Abbie has an incredible passion for service. She combined her love of working with children and her education to volunteer as an Anatomy Academy instructor. During her service, Abbie traveled to elementary schools and taught children the basics of human anatomy and nutrition. She is currently applying to physical therapy schools.
